Billy Smith

Billy Smith was a licensed Professional Civil Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor who dedicated more than 50 years of service to the Huntsville and Madison communities. Throughout his distinguished career, he served as the City Engineer, a board member of the Alabama Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, and a private business owner.

A graduate of the University of Alabama and a former officer in the United States Army, Billy brought leadership and expertise to every role he held. His contributions can be seen across the region in projects such as Big Spring Park, the Hampton Cove community, Alabama A&M Stadium, and countless other engineering and surveying efforts.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Billy was a devoted husband to his wife Dean, a proud father, and grandfather to three grandchildren. He was an active member of the Huntsville Rotary Club and enjoyed playing guitar and mandolin in his personal time.

Billy’s legacy lives on through the many projects that continue to shape the community he loved and served for over five decades.

Paul Duskin is one of the owners of 2 The Point Incorporated. He is a seasoned engineering professional with over 22 years of experience in civil design, along with a strong background in surveying and estimation. Prior to buying 2 The Point (formerly known as Smith Engineering), Paul worked for Saiia Construction Company, where he played a significant role in the planning and execution of numerous projects.

With 8 years of surveying experience and 4 years in estimation, Paul has developed a well-rounded skill set that spans both the technical and financial aspects of engineering and surveying. Throughout his career, he has contributed to several notable projects, including McMullen Cove, Watson Grande, Hays Farm, the first extension of Haysland Road in 2013 and Tractor & Equipment Company, providing essential expertise in civil design, project management, and execution.

Paul attended Wallace State Community College, where he laid the foundation for his engineering career. His education, combined with extensive hands-on experience, has equipped him with the skills and knowledge necessary to tackle complex projects and deliver high-quality results.

Tony is a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor. He is licensed in AL, TN, GA, FL & KY. He is one of the owners of 2 The Point Incorporated located in Huntsville. He is a Veteran of the United States Army and a graduate from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He moved to the Huntsville/Madison AL. area in 2010 from Southern Illinois. He still resides there today with his wife Kristin and their 2 children, Brooke and Jude.

In his time in the Huntsville/Madison area, Tony has worked on various projects across the Southeast region. These projects include multiple residential subdivisions helping bring new homes to the community, parks across the city, retail sites, mixed use developments, the federal courthouse and over 500 Dollar Generals.

Tony has also been active in professional and philanthropic boards. He was a member of the Land Trust Young Professional Board for 3 plus years. He served as the President and District Director of the Tennessee Valley Professional Land Surveyors Board. He also served on the Alabama Society of Professional Land Surveyors Board as Director, Vice President, President Elect, President and Immediate Past President. He currently is a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and helps coach youth hockey for the North Alabama Hockey Association.

Daniel Feld is a registered Professional Engineer and one of the owners of 2 The Point Incorporated, a family-oriented engineering firm. With a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama, Daniel began his career in 2009 as an Engineer Intern at The Cassady Company. He was licensed as a Professional Engineer in December 2013 and joined Smith Engineering Co. Inc. in October 2014, where he honed his skills in civil engineering design.

Daniel specializes in Grading, Drainage, Roadway, and Utility Design, contributing his expertise to a range of significant projects including Haysland Road, Hays Farm Subdivisions, Hays Farm Park, Madison Branch Subdivision, and the Madison Branch/Hardiman Road Roundabout, among others. His professional philosophy is grounded in integrity, with a commitment to doing the right thing and telling the truth in all aspects of his work.

Outside of his professional life, Daniel is an active member of the First Baptist Church in Guntersville, Alabama, where he assists with the youth ministry and coaches youth sports. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Meghan, and their two sons, Henry and William. Together, they love wake surfing on Lake Guntersville and exploring the great outdoors. Recently, Daniel has also embarked on a new adventure in endurance racing cars with his father, showcasing his passion for sports and family.
